What’s on in Mandurah this weekend
Happy Friday everyone! With another sunny weekend upon us, it’s time to start making weekend plans (if you haven’t already).
Kicking off tomorrow at 10am is the Stretch Arts Festival, which is a mix of free art workshops, live music, food, markets and performances.
Highlights of this year's festival include the Drift Installation Art Award. This exciting competition was first held in 2015 and is quickly growing into a signature event of the Stretch Arts Festival. It invites artists (local and international) to design, and then create an installation art piece. The final works are then installed throughout the festival for everyone to enjoy. Oh, and did we mention that it’s free!
Our other festival ‘must-see’ is the EASTSIDE Stretch Youth Zone. In this zone there’ll be a pop up skate park, skate clinics, urban art workshops, DJs, musicians, a comedy zone, information booths, art workshops, circus performances… and so much more!
Once Stretch Festival wraps up for the day (it finishes at 4pm) keep the good times rolling with Mandurah’s first Laneway Festival, which kicks off at 5pm.
One of the events that we’re particularly looking forward to is the doggy dress up competition! If your pooch loves being the centre of attention, you can even enter them in the comp for the chance to win some great prizes.
In addition to a four-legged fashion show, there will also be human models walking the catwalk, a pop up restaurant by Flic’s Kitchen, silent disco, bar and heaps more.
